Reviews
FAQ

1. Is strong water flow at Jog Falls guaranteed on every departure?

No. The appearance and volume of Jog Falls depend on rainfall, reservoir conditions and seasonal water release. The waterfall is generally most impressive during and after the monsoon, but TrekHievers cannot guarantee a specific water level on any departure.

2. Does this tour include descending to the base of Jog Falls?

No base descent is listed in the standard TrekHievers itinerary. The scheduled visit is primarily for viewing Jog Falls from the accessible tourist area. Travellers should not assume that the approximately 1,400-step route to the base is included unless it is confirmed for the selected batch.

3. Can Jog Falls be visited during the summer?

Jog Falls remains a tourist attraction throughout the year, but the visible water flow may be substantially lower during dry summer months. Travellers booking mainly for the waterfall experience should prefer the monsoon and post-monsoon period.

4. How difficult is the walk to Yana Caves?

The standard approach involves a forest walk of roughly half a kilometre from the parking area, with uneven ground, slopes and steps near the rock formations. It is manageable for many travellers but requires comfortable footwear and reasonable mobility.

5. Is Yana Caves suitable to visit during heavy rainfall?

Heavy rainfall can make the forest trail wet and slippery. Access may be delayed, shortened or restricted when local authorities or the trip team consider conditions unsafe.

6. Can Vibhuti Waterfall be closed during the tour?

Yes. Vibhuti Waterfall may be closed or skipped during heavy rain, unsafe trail conditions, excessive water flow or local restrictions. The trip captain may modify the schedule for traveller safety.

7. Is the Mirjan Fort visit guaranteed?

The current itinerary mentions Mirjan Fort as a time-permitting stop. Its inclusion depends on traffic, weather, attraction timings and the time taken at Yana Caves and Vibhuti Waterfall.

8. Is the Honnavar Sharavathi Mangrove Boardwalk included in every batch?

The brief itinerary mentions the Honnavar Boardwalk, but operational coverage can depend on the selected batch, route, weather and available time. Travellers should confirm its inclusion before booking if it is a priority.

9. Does the package include Om Beach or the complete Gokarna beach trek?

No. The standard itinerary currently focuses on Kudle Beach and does not promise the full Kudle–Om–Half Moon–Paradise beach trek. Om Beach or other beaches should be treated as additional stops only when specifically confirmed.

10. Are water sports, Netrani Island scuba diving or boating included?

No water sports or Netrani Island scuba-diving activity is listed in the standard inclusions. Such activities require separate time, payment and operator confirmation and should not be assumed to be part of this package.

11. What is the dress code for Mahabaleshwar Temple in Gokarna?

Temple visitors should wear modest traditional clothing. Karnataka Tourism currently notes a strict dress code for the inner temple area, with dhoti or pancha for men and saree or salwar suit for women, while jeans and shorts may not be permitted.

12. Can non-Hindu travellers enter Mahabaleshwar Temple?

Non-Hindu travellers may visit the temple surroundings, but access to the inner sanctum can be restricted. Visitors must follow the current instructions of temple authorities.

13. Is the Raja Gopura lift at Murudeshwar included in the package?

The tour includes Murudeshwar sightseeing, but the Raja Gopura lift ticket is not specifically listed under inclusions. Travellers should carry money for the lift or any other attraction entry fee.

14. Can travellers swim at Kudle Beach, Jog Falls or Vibhuti Waterfall?

Swimming is not a guaranteed or organised part of this tour. Sea currents, slippery rocks and changing waterfall conditions can be dangerous. Travellers must follow local warnings and the trip captain’s instructions and should not enter restricted water areas.

15. Are washrooms and changing facilities available throughout the trip?

Basic washrooms are generally available at the hotel, restaurants and major tourist stops, but cleanliness and availability can vary. Private changing rooms, showers and premium facilities should not be assumed at waterfalls or roadside stops.

16. Where will luggage be kept after hotel checkout?

After checkout, luggage is normally kept in the tour vehicle or another arrangement communicated by the trip captain. Travellers should carry valuables, medicines and essential documents in a small day bag.

17. Can vegetarian or Jain meals be arranged?

Vegetarian food is commonly available in Gokarna and Murudeshwar. Jain meals and other dietary requirements must be requested in advance and remain subject to restaurant and group-meal availability.

18. Is mobile network connectivity available during the tour?

Mobile connectivity is usually available in Gokarna and Murudeshwar town areas but may become weak around Yana, Vibhuti Waterfall, forest roads and parts of the Jog Falls route. Important tickets and contact details should be saved offline.

19. Is this trip suitable for senior citizens?

Suitability depends on the traveller’s mobility, health and comfort with two overnight road journeys, early starts, uneven walking trails and a fast sightseeing schedule. Senior travellers should review the itinerary carefully and obtain medical advice when appropriate.

20. Can children join the Gokarna Jog Falls Murudeshwar tour?

Children may join subject to TrekHievers’ current age, seating and room-sharing policy. Parents should consider the overnight travel, long road hours, waterfall conditions and walking required at Yana before booking.

21. Is the tour suitable for solo women travellers?

Solo women can join the fixed-departure group. Room allocation is based on the selected package and availability. Travellers should confirm sharing arrangements, pickup details and the trip captain’s contact information before departure.

22. Can TrekHievers arrange a private tour for a family, college or company?

Yes, a private or customised trip may be requested for families, groups of friends, colleges and companies. The final itinerary and price depend on group size, vehicle, room category, meals, departure city and selected attractions.

23. Can I join the trip from Gokarna Road, Kumta or Murudeshwar?

A local joining option may be possible only after written confirmation from TrekHievers. The standard package should not be assumed to include railway-station pickup or an unscheduled transfer.

24. What happens if weather or local authorities close an attraction?

The trip captain may change the sequence, shorten the visit, skip the attraction or provide a feasible alternative. A specific replacement or refund is not guaranteed unless it is covered by the booking policy.

25. What happens if I arrive late or miss my pickup point?

The vehicle may not be able to wait beyond the communicated reporting time. A late traveller may need to reach the next confirmed pickup point or destination at personal expense, subject to TrekHievers approval.
