Overview
  • A relatively less-explored waterfall, Kalmandavi falls, which has been one of the most amazing treks in the Satara District of Maharashtra state India, nestled in the fold of the Western Ghats. This is a marvelous natural beauty that features an amazing waterfall which; however, can be viewed through a more adventurous route which involves traveling through forests, through narrow rocks, and rolling hills all until one gets a view of the water way. It starts from Naneghat Pass historically, and it is very initial and easy, but sometimes it becomes very energetic and slightly tough. There tourists also experience steep inclines, crossing thick forests, which are home to diverse species of wildlife, streams, and other rigorous terrain.
  • The trek is full of steep rock terrain, and at the end the tourist will get the chance to witness the amazing  Kalmandavi Waterfalls, measuring 100 feet in height. It conveys the description of the cascade and water channel: the powerful cascade creates a natural pool at its bottom to have a bath. The trek is ideal when managed during the monsoon or post monsoon season, and due to the inclined and slanting rocky path, a fair amount of physical strength and appropriate equipment are required to manage the trek successfully. Although it is very tiring, it is a full interaction with the beauties of nature, making it a must-go target for everyone who likes adventure and walking as well as who wants to have a silent walk with nature.
  • An exciting trek to the Kalmandavi Waterfall begins in the small village of Naneghat, which is in the Pune district of Maharashtra, near Junnar. Naneghat in itself is a great mountain pass that played a key role in trading in the time of the Satavahana kingdom. Today, it is all about offering first glimpses at the nature that spans beyond its borders.
  • Hikers often begin their trip at the break of dawn in order to maximize the duration of the day as well as enjoy the temperature characterized by the high altitudes of trekkers. The first day of the trek is easy to moderate; in this section, one comes across well-defined paths through forests with hilly meadows around, and the majority of the area has green vegetation. The flowers in this section are also not hard to spot, whether one is new to trekking or an experienced hiker.
  • As the Kalmandavi Waterfall Trek goes further, the hiking trail gets more intense, with a steeper, knife-edged ridge in the middle of a very dark green and sometimes black forest with little hint of sunlight. Hearing the nice tunes of birds and the sound of dried leaves is sweet music to the ears and assists in making the trekking experience even more enjoyable.
  • They noted that the major part of the plant and animal life in this area can be seen in this section of the trek. The Western Ghats plays host to a great number of plant and animal species that never cease to amaze trekkers through the different insects and bird species that would be spotted along the trekking route. The beautiful colorful and pretty flowers in the natural Abode and the melodious sounds of birds in naked natural cast are exciting and amazing based on the types of birds which include the Malabar whistling trush, the Indian paradise flycatcher. Sometimes one can come across wild life like the trip had the status of monkeys and a shy deer running across the undergrowth at that.
