What was the concept of turtle festival?

It's about witnessing the birth of young turtles that hatch from their eggs and slowly crawl into the ocean to start the journey of their life. This festival is also called Olive Ridley Turtle Festival is organized by local villagers. They do so in coordination with an NGO called Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra.

Pune:  

(2D/2N: With Stay Plan) 

Day 0 : (Friday Night)

  • 08:30 PM: Report to the trekleaders at Fergusson College Main Gate, (opposite Starbucks), FC Road. Departure to Velas.

  • 08:45 PM: Breman Chowk, Aundh​
  • 09:00 PM: Pick-ups from Wakad Flyover (Towards Hinjewadi)

  • ​​09:20 PM: Shivaji Chowk, Hinjewadi phase 

Day 1: (Saturday) 

  • 05:45 AM: Arrive in Velas and head directly to the Beach for the Morning hatching Session of the turtles 
  • 06:30 AM: Witness the Beautiful Sunrise on the Beach 
  • 07.00 AM: Enjoy the First Turtle Hatching Session
  • 08:30 AM: Return to our stay property in the village, Get freshen up, have Breakfast, and enjoy a leisurely vibe in the village 
  • 11:00 AM: Visit the strategically built Himmatgad Fort which overlooks the sea and the Bankot creek.
  • 01:30 PM: Lunchtime 
  • 03:00 PM: Explore the areas around Velas or have a rest.
  • 04:00 PM: Leave towards the Beach for the Evening's second hatching session. Have a fun time at the beach, Enjoy the sunset, and come back to our stay property for Dinner.
  • 08:30 PM: Have Dinner. Overnight stay.  

Day 2: (Sunday) 

  • 06:00 AM: Wake up call, Get ready, and head towards the beach for the Third Hatching Session 
  • 07:00 AM: Enjoy the session and come back to the property, get freshen up, and Have Breakfast.
  • 08:30 AM: Have breakfast and Head to Harihareshwar via the Bankot-Bagmandla Ferry boat.
  • 11:00 PM: Explore Harihareshwar Temple. 
  • 02:00 PM: Have Lunch at Harihareshwar and continue our journey towards Pune.
  • 11:00 PM: Reach Pune.

Things to carry:

  • Ready-to-eat food, like plum cakes, chocolate bars, some snacks & biscuits, etc.

  • Sun protection cap, goggles.
  • Normal bedsheet or blanket to sleep inside the tent or room.
  • Cameras, glares, etc. can be carried at your own risk.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  • 75% refund within 5-7 working days, if notified 8 or more days prior to the event date.
  • 50 % refund within 5-7 working days, if notified 4 to 7 days prior to the event date.
  • No refund, if notified less than 3 days prior to the event date
  • No show No Refund.
  • Event Tickets cannot be transferred to another date against cancellation.
  • Event Tickets can be transferred to another person against cancellation.
  • If we cancel the trek, only the "Billing Amount" will be refunded, payment gateway fee is non-refundable.

Trekhievers Policy:

  • We strictly follow no alcohol, no drugs, and no litter policy.
  • Seats will be reserved only after full payment.
  • A complete schedule of the trek will be given to the registered participants 12 Hours prior on WhatsApp.
  • Organizers have all the right to modify or change the schedule in case of any unavoidable circumstance.
  • The tour is weather based and depends on the weather conditions. There may be last-minute cancellations if weather conditions deteriorate.
